NYSC tasks corps members on skills acquisition for self reliance


Katsina State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Scheme, NYSC, Alhaji Ahadjo Yahaya, Saturday, called on the 2020 Batch A and ‘B’ Stream 2 corps members deployed to Katsina State to leverage on the NYSC Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme to maximize their hidden talents and potentials.

The Coordinator who gave the cost during the Closing Ceremony of the SAED in – camp training programme at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Mani Road, Katsina, additionally noted that embracing SAED will make sure the corps members attain self-reliance and productivity on the end of their service year

He said ’’engaging in skill acquisition and entrepreneurship will discourage you from seeking white kola jobs, become self-reliant and indeed employers of labour.

‘’it is going to additionally allow you maximize your potentials and keep alive what you’ve started within the orientation camp.”

Earlier, the Schedule officer of SAED in katsina camp, Alhaji Lawal Yaradua called on the corps members to not doubt the possibilities of excelling in SAED coaching.

He further urged them to come up with good feasibility studies and business proposals assuring that the NYSC will link them up with designated financial Institutions where they could get soft loans to establish their dream businesses.

The Resident officer Alhaji Salisu Balarabe and the other speakers gave similar advice to the corps members and called on those still in doubts to make up their minds to join one skill group or the other for the sake of their future.

Highlights of the occasion include the exhibitions of the various skills and vocations acquired at the in-camp coaching.
