David Umahi the Ebonyi State Governor has opened on the speculation that he may contest for the presidency in 2023.

He called on his former party PDP to put an end to the frequent attacks on his person, advising that there was no need for it. David Umahi addresses these issues when the Senate Chief Whip, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, hosted him to a dinner in Abuja.

“I will advise them to prevent the attack on me, on my person. They don’t really have anything on me. They don’t,” he said.

“The founding father of PDP is Dr. Alex Ekueme, former vice president, I believe strongly that the PDP will do the needful by putting me to shame by ceding the presidential ticket to the South East.

“And this is often just my aim. I never said provides it to me. There are many, many Igbo leaders who are much, far better than me and more qualified. But as their younger one, we should always watch their back.

“When people speculate that I’m coming to try to this and do this, I just laugh because I still say that 2023, by God’s special grace, I might are a governor for eight years which is enough on behalf of me and that I would need to bow bent face my business.

“So, those that are already speculating are wasting their time. Every man possesses his destiny then, a charter of life,” he said.
